Do you have strong negotiating and organizational skills? Are you able to see how complex situations are connected to each other? Then turn your skills into a vocation: by becoming a management assistant in freight forwarding and logistics. Your tasks include handling complex logistics processes. You work on the incoming transport orders and plan efficient, needs-based routes to get the materials to where they need to be. Working with and advising your customers is an everyday part of this profession. You are the expert they turn to for advice on processes, transport and order picking. Other tasks include calculating prices and putting together customer-specific offers. During your apprenticeship, you will gain in-depth knowledge to be able to draw up contracts while taking all legal regulations and insurance matters into account.
During this three-year apprenticeship to become a management assistant in freight forwarding and logistics, you will get to work in a variety of company departments, such as logistics and commercial administration. In addition, you will learn about data processing and negotiating techniques and become skilled in drawing up contracts.
One prerequisite for doing this course is having an allgemeine Hochschulreife or Fachhochschulreife or a Realschulabschluss with good grades in Maths, German and English. It goes without saying that you are interested in logistical processes. What’s more, you must be reliable, be able to handle tasks on your own and be good at working as part of a team. Other strengths include strong communication skills, a high level of commitment and the ability to assert yourself.
