Lünen, 4 November 2024. TSR Recycling GmbH & Co. KG has taken over Siegfried Jost GmbH & Co. NE Metallhandel und Elektroschmelzwerk and its subsidiaries. By integrating this company – a family-run firm steeped in tradition from Menden in Germany’s Sauerland region – TSR will be able to add a further key field of business to its portfolio of services: producing copper alloys using recycled raw materials. At the same time, the company will be gaining further expertise in electric smelting technology – a field that is becoming increasingly important as it promotes the industrial use of recycled materials.
Founded in 1924, Siegfried Jost is a well-established player in the metal-processing industry. Operating its own electric furnace, the company primarily produces copper alloys for use within the sanitary and glass industries. Furthermore, Jost has decades of experience of processing production residue such as slag, dross, sand and swarf. As a result, the company not only has in-depth metal expertise but also systematically focuses on reusing resources and promoting the circular economy.

Thanks to this takeover, TSR will be able to unite its leading Europe-wide recycling network with the expertise of a specialist smelting business. This will further extend the depth of its value chain and enable it to recycle production residue in an even more targeted manner so that it can produce
high-quality recycled raw materials for making copper alloys. This addition to its portfolio will further grow TSR’s position as a reliable partner to industry and help it to close material life cycles in the metal industry in an even more effective way.
