TSR40
Indispensable for sustainable steel products. Now and in the future
TSR40 is a unique, extremely pure recycled product that is made using a patented process. It is already making the production of steel in blast furnaces more climate and resource-friendly right now. It will also secure the supplies of input grades that electric steelmaking plants will urgently need in the future.

With the highest levels of purity
What we have succeeded in doing with TSR40 is something that had seemed impossible in the past. It is made exclusively from post-consumer material and yet it has an almost perfect level of purity. The iron content lies at over 98%. The proportion of accompanying elements (such as copper, nickel and chromium) is minimal and can be clearly defined during the production process thanks to in-line analytics.

The steel sector is turning more and more to electric arc furnaces as part of its green transition. These businesses depend on high-quality raw materials, such as new scrap. With supplies of such materials being limited, there is the danger of a supply gap opening up here – a gap that must then be closed. Our TSR40 product can do just that. It is of a guaranteed premium quality and is made from material that will be in sufficient supply in the future as well: namely, from post-consumer scrap.

More sustainability. In conventional blast furnaces as well
Thanks to TSR40, integrated steelworks are able to increase the amount of recycled material they use. This reduces their consumption of resources (e.g. of iron ore and reducing agents) and clearly cuts their carbon emissions. All this is possible today without them having to make big changes to their plants.
A perfectly balanced composition
The quality of our product is defined by determining the exact proportion of accompanying elements. We always make every effort here to work together with our customers to find the perfect solution. Once defined, we guarantee that the exact limit values given for copper, nickel, aluminium etc are always adhered to. This is made possible thanks to the online analysis process we use during production.

We make sure that our customers get the exact support they need with our products. This is not only true for the quality and composition of our TSR40 but also for the actual deliveries. Our perfect supply chain management system ensures that we have ideally coordinated access to the input material we need and that we can guarantee a continuous supply of materials to all of our customers’ plants.

TSR40 in combination with closed loop systems
There is nothing more sustainable or better for the climate than to ensure all raw materials are recovered and reused. We implement closed-loop solutions for our customers – for example, firms operating in the automobile industry – either on top or in combination with supplies of TSR40.
Recycling at its very best – turning old car bodies into new cars
Our structures have deliberately been built up so that we have the best possible access to the materials we need. We own, for example, shares in a company that specialises in dismantling end-of-life vehicles.
TSR40 is the future and we are planning accordingly
We have reacted quickly and in good time to the big demand coming from industry for our product – by continuously extending our network of facilities and procuring greater volumes of the input material we require. The world’s first production plant in Duisburg will soon be joined by facilities in Magdeburg and Amsterdam. Our medium-term goal is to cover demand across Europe.
