We are able to offer you a range of services that no other business is able to match: our company carries out all the tasks itself – from dismantling the wind turbines, to transporting the components, all the way through to recovering and separating all the raw materials so they can be recycled for reuse. We are showing the way. Even for the DIN standards
The bigger the project, the bigger the responsibility. We are committed to adhering to stringent environmental and health & safety standards – something that has also been set out in our compliance regulations. As a member of the RDRWind trade association, we have also defined the best working practices for sustainably dismantling and recycling wind turbines in the DIN SPEC 4866. This paper is currently undergoing the process to become an official DIN standard.
This is what happens to the individual
metal components
Depending on the quality of the material, the separated steel and iron components are either sent straight to steelworks for smelting or further dismantled and processed at a TSR plant.
The recyclable materials are recovered from all the other parts (such as the e-motor, gearbox and transformer), separated according to type and then transformed into highquality raw materials.
Working parts are made available to the wind energy sector as spare parts. Absolutely in keeping, therefore, with the principle that priority should always be given to reuse ahead of materials recycling.
A 10% share. 100% commitment
The blades may make up around just one-tenth of all the material found in a wind turbine but we put all our efforts into this ten percent as well. Working together with both other companies in our group and specialised partner firms, we shred the blades into flakes so they can be used as a resource-friendly substitute building material. Moreover, we are also permanently working on developing additional recycling solutions.
