Lünen, 09 October 2024. Novelis Inc. and TSR Recycling GmbH & Co. KG have entered into a strategic partnership to drive forward the circular economy in the aluminium industry. Following the conclusion of a long-term supply agreement, TSR will be providing Novelis with a guaranteed ca. 75,000 tonnes of its high-quality recycled aluminium products TSR130 and TSR136 made from post-consumer materials over the next three years.
TSR is able to produce its TSR130 and TSR136 by making the very most of its modern processing technologies. Both products are recycled raw materials that can be used to produce aluminium for the automotive industry. This partnership represents an important step towards decarbonising the aluminium industry and supports the growing demand for recycled materials.
Thanks to this collaboration, Novelis, the world’s largest recycler of aluminium, and TSR, one of Europe’s leading metal recycling businesses, will be speeding up the transition towards a genuine circular economy. They will be playing a key role in decarbonising the aluminium industry in both Europe and beyond.
TSR Managing Director Denis Reuter commented: “Here at TSR, we are delighted to be able to further deepen our collaboration work with Novelis and to work towards our common goal of maximising the circular economy, cutting carbon emissions, conserving natural resources and reducing energy consumption in the materials industry. Recycling and reusing valuable resources benefits both our company and the environment. Thanks to our partnership, we can help drive forward the transition towards a genuine circular economy in the automotive sector and beyond.”
“We are proud to publicly reaffirm our close partnership with TSR and to sustainably advance the circular economy in our sector with this long-term commitment,” commented Emilio Braghi, Executive Vice President of Novelis and President of Novelis Europe. “This alliance is key to be able to guarantee a reliable supply of high-quality recycled raw materials that will help our customers to reach their sustainability targets. At the same time, it brings us closer to our own company goal of achieving 75% recycled content in our products by 2030.”
